Learn More About Mystic Frog Studio

Brought to life in
Twenty Twenty Five

Hello! We are so glad you’re here! Mystic Frog Studio was born from a love of creativity and the belief that art should be fun, bold, and accessible. Located right here on our property in Fort Collins, the studio is a space where photographers and their clients can let their imaginations run wild and create something truly magical.

One of our goals is to make studio time affordable for local photographers in northern Colorado and from all over. We know how expensive renting a professional space can be, and we want the Mystic Frog to be an option that inspires creativity without breaking the bank.

So, let’s make some art together! Whether it be weird and wild or calm and clean, Mystic Frog Studio is here to help you bring your vision to life—one magical moment at a time.

Please share your creations with us on Instagram or email us your pictures. We would love to showcase the art created in the Frog 🙂

With love,
Leighanne & Simon Jones-Rayome

Co-owner and Chief Operating Frog

Leighanne Jones (Rayome) is the co-owner and the creative mind of Mystic Frog Studio. She has been a photographer in northern Colorado since 2010, specializing in weddings, couples, and families, and is also a league photographer for FOCO Roller Derby. She works full-time as the Director of Operations for a local full-service marketing agency, and when she’s not in front of a computer, she likes to hike, go camping, read, and make crafts. She has a 10-year-old son, and two cats, Sir Robin the Brave and Ducky.

All of the styled setups in the studio come from somewhere in her predominantly right-controlled brain space.

Co-owner and Chief Financial Frog

Simon Jones is the co-owner and financial frog. He is also the Jones-Rayome house’s math guru, so naturally, he won the role of the financial frog with no competition. He is currently studying for his Master’s in Special Education and is a special education teacher at a middle school in Fort Collins. He also owns the title of “totally awesome stepdad.”

When he’s not working or doing homework, he plays bass and sings lead vocals for his band. He’s also an avid fantasy reader and player of Magic the Gathering.

The Design & Finishing of The Frog

Troy Jones (Simon’s pop) designed and largely completed, with the help of so many folks, the studio to be an accessory dwelling unit above our garage and rented out as a studio apartment. After much thought, we suggested that instead of being a living space, we could utilize it as an affordable photo studio for the community. During the project’s initial year, we even had to remove the garage roof, and we had a roof in our driveway for a few months. We were truly the talk of the neighborhood due to the fact that we had to block off access to our street two separate times for a giant crane. After the roof was replaced came the labor of putting up the walls, framing out the windows, bathroom, and closet, installing windows, adding insulation and drywall, painting the main room and bathroom, installing the floor, and all the other numerous things that come when you build a room that previously didn’t exist.
